kint x GUSHKA
Modernity that cherishes Ukrainian traditions…
This idea has been brought to life in the first collaboration between the Kyiv-based furniture brand kint and the Kosiv-based manufactory GUSHKA. The result of this partnership, which began in 2024, is a limited series of puffa m4 stranded and puffa m4 brushed armchairs, which are items of contemporary collectible design.
GUSHKA is a Ukrainian wool manufacturer founded in 2016. All the brand’s products are woven on antique looms using ancient techniques. GUSHKA’s items are made from natural wool from sheep that freely graze on the Carpathian slopes. The brand continuously promotes ancient craftsmanship and instills a love for authentic Ukrainian traditions.
kint x GUSHKA share common values and philosophy, allowing the brands to organically combine contemporary object design with traditional Ukrainian craftsmanship in their new products, thereby enhancing each other's strengths.
The main item of the collaboration is the puffa m4 armchair, which is part of the puffa system, the best-selling furniture collection from kint. The collection's author, Rostyslav Sorokovyi, is a Ukrainian interior and industrial designer, founder, and creative director of the Lviv design studio MUDU.
The original recognizable forms of the puffa have been reinterpreted, revealing the product's character through a material traditional for Ukraine — natural wool, specifically eco-friendly Carpathian wool from free-grazing sheep used by GUSHKA. It is through the combination of modern design and authentic Ukrainian material that the puffa m4 stranded and puffa m4 brushed armchairs were created.
The stranded technique is applied by artisans through layering 10-15 cm long wool strands in a smooth technique. Like all products made of natural wool, the armchair’s upholstery is pleasant to the touch and has a slight “tingling” effect.
The unique structure of the wool provides natural durability and strength. A thin waxy layer on the wool fibers contains fatty acids that inhibit bacterial growth and easily repel dirt.
The brushed technique is performed by artisans through manual combing in a traditional smooth technique. The pile length is 5-10 cm. Like all natural wool products, the chair’s upholstery has a slight “tingling” effect.

Each puffa m4 stranded and puffa m4 brushed model will be available in a palette of six different natural wool shades. The color of the upholstery and the technique can be selected individually, making each armchair a truly unique work of contemporary collectible design.
Frame Materials:
The frame of the soft part is made of wood and plywood. The soft part is filled with several layers of foam of different firmness. The bottom is lined with natural fabric, and the small legs are made of wood with felt pads.
The puffa m4 stranded and puffa m4 brushed armchairs are unique, handcrafted, limited-edition products. Each piece has a distinctive form, natural texture, and wool color.
In both techniques — stranded and brushed — only 100 armchairs will be produced, regardless of color.
Each piece features a metal plaque engraved with the chair’s details and its corresponding serial number. The authenticity of each item is confirmed by a certificate signed by the designer and the directors of GUSHKA and kint.
